Salary Calculator

Enter what you're paid and how often, and see the equivalent hourly, daily, weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, monthly, and annual pay — adjusted for your hours per week and paid weeks per year.

Quick answer: Annual salary = hourly rate × hours per week × weeks per year. At 40 hours and 52 weeks, $25/hour is $52,000 a year; going the other way, a $60,000 salary is about $28.85/hour.

How it works

  1. 1. Enter your pay and period

Type your pay and pick the period it covers — hourly, weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, monthly, or annual. The calculator normalizes everything through your annual total.

  2. 2. Adjust hours and weeks

The hourly conversion depends on your schedule: 40 hours × 52 weeks = 2,080 paid hours a year is the standard assumption. Work 35 hours or take unpaid weeks and your effective hourly rate changes.

  3. 3. Compare across periods

The result shows all seven pay periods side by side. Note that biweekly (26 payments) and semi-monthly (24 payments) differ — two months a year, biweekly workers get a third check.

Frequently asked questions

  • How do I convert hourly pay to an annual salary?

Multiply your hourly rate by hours per week, then by paid weeks per year. Full-time at $20/hour is $20 × 40 × 52 = $41,600 a year. Overtime, tips, and bonuses are extra.

  • How much is $70,000 a year per hour?

    About $33.65 an hour at 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year ($70,000 ÷ 2,080 hours). At 35 hours a week it's $38.46 — your assumed schedule changes the answer.

  • Is this before or after taxes?

These are gross (pre-tax) figures. Federal income tax, FICA, and any state tax typically take 20–35% — use the paycheck calculator to estimate your actual take-home pay.
